Hot melt adhesive  Swift Lock 4955 M on the polyurethane base

Polyurethane-base hot melt adhesive Swift Lock 4955 M is used for lamination of profile products made of aluminum, PVC and wood: chipboard, MDF, plywood with decorative PVC films, veneer, CPL (Continuous Pressure Laminat – Melamine) and other materials.

It is a light colored, hot melt adhesive with excellent machining characteristics. It is characterized by: very good heat stability, heat resistance, fast setting and high initial tack. Due to high viscosity and adhesion, it allows to cover thick, rigid, problem films and veneer. After the glue hardens, the adhesive compound has an increased heat resistance and moisture resistance. Curing of the adhesive occurs due to atmospheric humidity and special embedded components.

The consumption of glue during profile lamination with PVC films is 40 – 65 g / m² (depending on the texture and thickness of the film). Consumption of adhesive during profile lamination with veneer – up to 75-80 g / m², CPL – 60 to – 80 g / m²

Applications: can be applied in rollers or nozzles or other applicator system. During lamination it is recommended that the temperature of metal surfaces should be maintained at +40°C. In the case of PVC profiles, heating also significantly improves the quality of adhesion and helps to reduce the consumption of the glue. The optimum profile temperature before gluing should be at a level of +30°C – +35 °C. For the optimum results, materials which is bonded must be clean and dry, free from dust and grease. Full hardening of the adhesive is achieved after 5-7 days at temperature 20°C and relative humidity  65%. Immediately after mechanical bonding, the products are ready for further processing (cutting and formating). Equipment for glue melting should be protected from atmospheric moisture.

Storage conditions: glue should be stored in a closed original package under normal cool and dry storage conditions at room temperature from + 15 ° C to + 30 ° C with a minimum relative humidity of 30%, should be protected from direct sunlight. In such conditions glue can be stored for at least 12 months without negative impact on it’s quality.
